Call for cooperation
Market for Peace
The educative game Market for Peace is based on a model of the stockmarket. Players trade in predictions on a specific conflict. In doing so, the players become aware of the workings of a stockmarket and it encourages them to think about conflict and reconstruction. Also they get insights on how economy and conflict are ‘linked’.
Upact is looking for partners able to develop Market for Peace in their own country, both by contributing with their network and their knowledge.
This serious game is aimed at making people aware of the impact Europe has in making its budget choices. It teaches players the consequences of these choices for people in Europe and other parts of the world. By asking players to act as a member of the European Commission, they get encouraged to think about the meaning of European policy and its implications.
Upact is looking for partners able to develop Budget Europe in their own country, both by contributing with their network and their knowledge.
Fix-A-Treaty is a simulation game for students that aims to create awareness about the role of international relations and geopolitics in processes of conflict resolution and peace building worldwide. By taking on the role of stakeholders in a conflict the students are stimulated to bring the conflict to an end through a negotiated peace agreement.
After two succesful editions (2009, 2011) on Dutch high schools we now plan to organize ‘open’ Fix-a-Treaty activities and start up a University and an international edition. Are you an international organization or university willing to co-organize a Fix-a-Treaty event?
Peace of Minds academy – Europe
The program provides participants with knowledge, leadership skills, experiences, practices and a broad network of professionals in order to enable them to take up challenges on social inclusion or advocacy projects within their own communities and localities. Therefore the program also focuses on self-empowerment and tries to raise social awareness. Moreover the program wants to create a sense of citizenship with its participants. On the one hand by making them feel responsible and showing them possibilities to take action on concrete issues themselves, on the other hand by showing them the windows of opportunity offered by involving local government, politicians and decision-makers in addressing these issues.
We look for partners in Italy, Romania and Germany.
