Projects
On this page we highlight some of our projects and programs.
Budget Europe
This serious game makes people aware of the impact Europe has in making its budget choices. It teaches players the consequences of these choices for people in Europe and other parts of the world. By asking players to act as a member of the European Commission, they get encouraged to think about the meaning of European policy and its implications.
Peace of Minds academy
For half a year, thirty selected students will work on concrete challenges provided to them by youth organizations from developing or (post-)conflict countries. The students will gain new insights and skills, broaden their network and increase their own leadership capabilities.
Conflict Counter
Upact attempts to provide an overview of recent conflicts worldwide. The counter consists of a world map, showing well-known and less visible conflicts alike. For every described conflict area, the counter shows a short and to-the-point overview of the background, context and recent developments in a conflict.
Market for Peace
This educative game is based on a model of the stockmarket. Players trade in predictions on a specific conflict. In doing so, the players become aware of the workings of a stockmarket and it encourages them to think about conflict and reconstruction. Also they get insights on how economy and conflict are ‘linked’.
